From the legendary intro before "Californication", to the energetic performance in "Can't Stop" and the absolutely powerful rendition of "Under the Bridge", this is an all-time classic rock album that will make you fall in love with Red Hot Chili Peppers no matter what your thoughts were about them before. Pure energy!

Highlights

Californication:

The epic intro before the song is too good for words to describe. Just feel the electricity between the bass and the guitar. Amazing.

Otherside:

A personal favorite of mine. One of the reasons I started playing bass guitar is the bass solo part in this song. Too many memories.

Overall Assessment

I'm going to come out say that there is a very realistic chance that you won't find a better live performance album than this. Too good to pass up whether you are a fan of them or not.

"Thinking in Textures", a recent discovery of mine, is a great album for taking a step back and relaxing. The whole album is very much like a long and comforting exhalation that helps you forget about whatever unnecessary stress you were dealing with earlier. The album starts off with "I'm Into You", which captivates you with its sheer intimacy, as it empties your mind and fills it back in with love (great vocals and "romantic" lyrics in this one). The cover of "No Diggity" is the highlight of the album and probably Chet Faker's most famous song, as it literally forces you to sing along and nod your head to the heartbeat-like beats made with kick drums. I have seen Chet Faker live two months back and wasn't the least amount of surprised to see how cool and calm the guy was, while he killed it on stage with his performance. He has this aura about him, you just feel like he is a chill guy with good intentions, who has been through a lot of stuff romantically. Thanks for helping us exhale Chet.

No Diggity:

Live Sessions version is even sexier.

I'm Into You:

#Groovy.

"But on a sunday morning sun, Well I don't, I don't believe in your loving"

Well in that case, it's time to move on.
